I would be a little known member of the Unseen University faculty under Ridcully’s tenure, where tenure is both automatic and nonexistent, perhaps as the Lecturer in Recent Runes (I have both the mind and the body for it. http://is.gd/dr8cm). As a member of the faculty, I’d have the obligatory pointy hat, a staff with a knob on its end, and the luxury of researching whatever I want in the sure and certain knowledge that no-one else cares. I can think of no other definition of bliss.

I would reincarnate as Guybrush Threepwood, a hopeless pirate and hopeless romantic, hopelessly wise-cracking my way through life and love. I would annoy my friends and foes alike with my charming wit and recital of knock-knock fish jokes!

  3. Edward Smith says:

I would be Robin Hood, running around (not in green tights, think Kevin Costner, Prince of thieves) with my bow and sword. Ready for any moment when a damsel maybe in distress on the train or in Games Paradise. I’ll be there.

If I could live out my days as a cosplay character I would be Zangief from Street Fighter. Although I’m not a large muscular Russian street fighter, it would definitely be impressive to have arms larger then most people’s thighs.

Vash the Stampede because he is a sentient Plant, an energy source created by humans, known as “The Humanoid’.

Sephiroth – I know he’s evil, but he’s the coolest villain and he can walk through fire. So maybe I could rescue some people in burning buildings…

A dragon captain from Naomi Novik’s His Majesty’s Dragon/Temeraire book series. The bottle green coat with captains bars suits every occasion and the goggles are awesomely steampunk and practical for windy days!

  8. Nigel Percy says:

Ash from Evil Dead 2 cuz no one messes with a man who carrys a chainsaw and axe

Living out my days? That’s an awful long time. That immediately removes any of the more popular Cosplay characters purely because maintaining the tight corsets, improbably coiffed hair and absurdly large weaponry would be too tiring. Which leaves something comfortable, preferably in tracksuit. So I would have to choose Norm, from the “Life. Be In It” ads in the 80s. Sure he had a bit of a beer guy and double chin, but at least thats not too much of a stretch for me.

  10. I would be Dora the Explorer. Have you seen how many holidays this girl gets to go on? Plus my daughters would always play with me instead of being Daddy’s girls. :)

I think living the life of Gandalf would be pretty intense. Lots of running around being noble, being close friends with 3000 year old elf lords and spectacular magical powers to boot. Sounds reasonable to me!!!

I’d live out my days as the captain of a Galaxy Trucker ship. I would carry around a backpack full of tiles, building ships to overcome various obstacles during the day. Of course, always on the lookout for the “dreaded space poodle” and the “cantankerous galaxy grandma” that threaten to rip the ship apart at any opportunity.

I want to spend my cosplay days as the Wizard from Gauntlet! I adore a pointy hat and the flowing nature of robes. The fun of scurrying about avoiding ghosts and quietly admiring the Valkyrie appeal as well. But most of all I just want an excuse to keep saying, “The Wizard needs food…badly!” It would never get old ;)

  14. Emma Docherty says:

    Naruto, because ninjas are awesome.

The coolest thing about it would be being able to smack myself upside the head every time i started whining and complaining every 5 minutes.

  15. I’d like to be Ichigo Kurosaki, minus the constantly getting beaten up! He has very cool looking black and white robes and fiery orange hair. He can also switch to sleeker black robes using his bankai! Last accessory is an optional full face hollow’s mask!

  16. Aaron says:

I’d dress up as Cat from Red Dwarf. I’d get to wear an outrageous suit and sing “I’m gunna get you little fishie”. Failing that I could get a towel and be the guy from the old spice commercials.
